Security and Privacy

Coherent’s advanced infrastructure creates a unified and secure environment across multiple locations.

Network Security
Network administrators in Minsk employ strong procedures to protect resources from unauthorized access. Antivirus software is maintained on all computers, change management procedures are defined, and network access is monitored and logged for all users.

Customer Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
VPNs based on customer specifications and security requirements are setup between customer location(s) and Coherent’s facilities to securely connect the two organizations. VPNs can either be software or hardware-based, depending on customer requirements.  Coherent team members have password protected access to the VPN, which is as secure as the VPN a customer’s employees would use when they connect from home or a remote location to the customer’s network.

Physical Security
All entries and exits to the development center in Minsk are controlled by badge readers, so only authorized personnel can enter Coherent’s facilities.  In addition, all entries and rooms within the development center are monitored by CCTV video cameras 24x7.

Project Resource Access
Personnel access restrictions are established such that only those developers assigned to your project team have password-protected permission to access your projects on the Minsk network, and passwords are changed on a regular basis in accordance with Coherent’s security policies.

Personnel Risks
Coherent Minsk team members are among the cream of the crop of Minsk’s highly developed educational and technical infrastructure, and are among the most highly paid employees in Belarus. Many have advanced degrees and PhDs. They have little incentive to jeopardize their jobs through unauthorized or illegal activity. That’s one reason why Coherent’s attrition rate in Minsk is less than 12% annually, versus over 30% in many Asian offshore centers.
