Why we’re here
AI is making it easier than ever to turn an idea into a prototype, interface, or even a working product.
So where does that leave designers?
If everyone can generate an interface, is design becoming less valuable - or are we simply moving toward a different definition of what good design actually is?
At this edition of Coherent Tech Talk, Coherent Solutions and The Norm bring together experienced designers and design leaders to explore what AI is changing in the profession: the skills companies value, the tools designers use, the way design and engineering work together, and what it now takes to create products that are not only attractive, but usable, buildable, and effective.
What to expect
One evening. Two talks. One panel discussion.
We’ll look at what makes designers valuable when execution becomes easier, which skills are becoming more important, and what the design job market may look like in 2026–2027.
We’ll discuss how AI is changing the design process and where the industry may be heading next.
And we’ll get practical, exploring the growing space between design and engineering through AI-assisted workflows with tools such as VS Code and Cursor.
Expect real experience, different points of view, practical examples, and plenty of room for discussion.
Plus food, drinks, and time to meet Warsaw’s design and tech community.
Why attend
Because another conversation about whether AI is “good or bad for designers” won’t get us very far.
The more useful conversation is about what is already changing in the work itself.
Roles are shifting. Tools are changing. Design is moving closer to engineering. Execution is becoming faster. And the ability to produce something is becoming less important than knowing what should be built, why it matters, and whether it will actually work.
That’s what we want to talk about.
Come for practical perspectives from people working with digital products today.
Stay for the discussion, food, drinks, and a chance to meet Warsaw’s design and tech community.
Meet The Norm
Its philosophy is simple: design should work in the real world.
The team creates digital products with implementation in mind, combining a human-centered approach with business value, product thinking, AI-powered tools, and close collaboration with engineering.
The Norm works across strategic and tactical design - from product envisioning, research and UX strategy to product design, rapid prototyping, validation, design systems, and digital innovation.
Their approach goes beyond creating screens.
A design decision should solve a real user need, support a business goal, and make sense when it reaches development.
Because design that never gets built is just an exercise.
At this edition of Coherent Tech Talk, people from The Norm will share how that philosophy evolves when AI becomes part of the everyday design process - and what it means for designers, products, and the way multidisciplinary teams work together.
Passionate about design, product strategy, and human-centered innovation. Katya has 15+ years of experience in design, product strategy, and human-centered innovation. Today, she leads The Norm, bringing together design, product thinking, and business value to turn ideas into digital products that work in the real world.
Alena is a Product Designer at The Norm with 5+ years of experience across B2B and B2C products. She works from discovery to delivery, combining UX, product thinking, and business perspective to create experiences that work for both people and businesses.
Roman has 14 years of design experience across different domains, including an American design studio. He likes looking beyond standard design frameworks and borrowing ideas from other industries. And yes - he still remembers Axure.
Denis is a Design Lead at The Norm with nine years of experience taking B2B and B2C products from early ideas to launch. He has built product strategies, design systems, and visual identities across SaaS, fintech, and fitness - and mentors other designers along the way.
Yury has 18 years of experience spanning UI, product design, and now Design Engineering. Most recently, he has been exploring where AI meets design - from new AI-powered workflows to agent-oriented design systems.
Ulyana is a Senior UX/Product Designer and mentor with nine years of experience across industries from healthcare to smart home. Today, she explores how AI and rapid prototyping are shifting designers’ value from pixel-perfect execution toward speed, judgment, and broader product thinking.
Topic 1:
The Value of Designers in the AI Era
AI can generate layouts, prototypes, copy, and code in seconds.
Does that make design less valuable - or does it simply change where the real value is?
Katya will look at how AI is democratizing design and what that means for the profession. She’ll cover the skills becoming more valuable, what The Norm is hiring for today, predictions for the design job market in 2026–2027, and practical ways designers can stay competitive while creating meaningful business value.
Because when making the screens gets easier, understanding what should be designed and why becomes even more important.
Topic 2:
The Future of Design
Where does design go when AI becomes part of the everyday workflow?
Our panelists will discuss how AI is transforming the design process, which trends are worth paying attention to, how expectations toward designers are changing, and where they believe the industry is heading next.
We’ll talk about the balance between human judgment and AI-assisted execution, the growing overlap between design and engineering, and the skills designers may need to develop next.
Different backgrounds, different perspectives, one question: What will great design mean in the AI era?
Topic 3:
Design Engineering with VS Code & Cursor
The gap between designing an experience and building it is getting smaller.
This session explores the emerging Design Engineer role and how tools like VS Code and Cursor are creating new ways of working across design and engineering.
Yury will share practical examples of AI-assisted design and implementation and show what becomes possible when designers move beyond traditional design tools and closer to the product itself.
Not just designing how something should look. Understanding how it behaves, how it gets built, and how it reaches the real world.
