Project Description

You’ll join a small, growing team (4 developers, 1 QA, 1 PO) working on a core loan underwriting platform primarily developed in PHP using the CakePHP framework. While maintaining this core system, the client is actively undergoing a digital transformation and aims to modernize its technology stack.

What You'll Do

• Support and enhance the core loan underwriting platform;
• Provide architectural guidance, maintain and improve existing functionality in CakePHP (versions 2.x to 5.x);
• Investigate and fix bugs, maintain stability of production systems;
• Help develop new features as part of the platform’s modernization;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions;
• Work closely with the team to ensure high reliability and clean implementation.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in PHP software development;
• Experience with CakePHP;
• Solid understanding of AWS services (RDS, Lambda, etc.) and infrastructure management;
• Experience with MySQL, MSSQL or other relational databases;
• Experience designing and building scalable, cloud-native systems;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset;
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments;
• Level of English - from Upper Intermediate (spoken and written);
• Readiness to work until 5 PM EST;
