How we got here

Coherent Solutions was founded on one simple idea: Digital engineering should be a strategic function that creates substantial enterprise value. Everything we’ve worked for since 1995 has been a test of whether that idea holds up, over time and across industries, and through technology shifts that have retired many of the tools we started with.

The original idea has held. Our firm that began in Minneapolis, now operates globally across the United States, Europe, and Latin America, with relationships that span decades and a retention rate that reflects our strength. Growth was born from executing well enough that clients expanded what they trusted us with, and from building the capacity we needed to repeatedly win that trust.

Now backed by exceptional advisors at IceLake and an ecosystem of technology partners, our focus is on advancing in the AI era, where delivery itself is being rebuilt. Our role is the same as it was on day one. Build the right thing, the right way, and be accountable for what it produces.

CSI OFFICE

1995. Founded in Minneapolis with the idea that digital engineering should be a strategic function that creates substantial enterprise value.

2003

2003. First international development center in Minsk, Belarus, Europe, as part of a broader global expansion effort.

2006

2006. Microsoft partnership announced. We have been building in the Microsoft ecosystem ever since.

2015

2015. Global headcount exceeded 500 during our 20-year anniversary.

2017

2017. Opened an international technology training center to educate high school students preparing for hi-tech careers.

2018

2018. Opened an international development center in Sofia, Bulgaria, Europe, and continued our European expansion.

2019

2019. First time Coherent ranked as the largest IT consulting company in the Twin Cities by the Twin Cities Business Journal.

2020

2020. Global headcount exceeded 1,000 during our 25-year anniversary.

2021

2021. Geographic footprint scaled to include professionals in Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Romania, Lithuania, and Mexico.

2023

2023. Global headcount exceeded 2,000 professionals, giving us substantial delivery capacity.

2025

2025. Celebrated our 30-year anniversary with a strategic investment by IceLake, ranking for the fifth time as the largest IT consulting company in the Twin Cities.
